For good and for bad… leadership is about Influence. We live in a time with over-night influencers who amass millions of followers with a tap on the screen of a phone. The truth is this: Everyone can be an influencer – no matter what sphere of life you are in. The qualities of your inner life will inevitably show up in your actual life and in your leadership. Because of God’s Spirit we have this ability to step into distinctive leadership. As opposed to influencers who rise and fall quickly. Leaders are developed slowly and internally – and they move through pain, tragedy, success, set-backs, obstacles, and breakthroughs. This conversation is about leveraging our lives for the good of others.

Faith Under Pressure The Christians in Colossae were under pressure from multiple sources: the Empire, and their former belief systems from both Jewish and pagan worlds. Paul writes to encourage and challenge the young church to live out of a new way that is centered firmly on Christ alone. When pressure comes (and it will!) - how do we work out our faith in Christ in a way that demonstrates the inbreaking of this new kingdom we’re called into? How do we understand allegiance to Christ above our allegiance to every system (government, culture, religion etc.) and every worldview? And how do we grow our faith while under pressure, and during the day-to-day practicalities of life?

It is important for followers of Jesus to understand the Biblical and historical framework that they are a part of. Understanding the Christian story helps us sort out our individual and corporate identity, teaches us how to live, and keeps us oriented to what it means to be the people of God. But sometimes it's challenging to understand fully how to read the Bible, how the old and new testaments relate to one another, or how to reconcile how an ancient faith shoud impact and influence modern lives. You can't answer the question, "who am I" until you answer the question "of what story am I a part?" Tthis series will make space to ask and answer both of those questions during a season of preperation for Easter.
